 Rhoda Dakar

Rhoda Dakar came to prominence as lead singer with multiracial all-girl band The Bodysnatchers on the legendary 2Tone label in 1980. 35 years on, she has recorded what is being described as “the lost 2Tone album”! The band scored two UK chart hits: ‘Let’s Do Rocksteady’ and ‘Easy Life’. Other than their appearance on 2Tone’s Dance Craze movie soundtrack LP, these were their only releases. Thereafter, Rhoda guested on The Specials’ More Specials album, then joined Special AKA as lead singer, co-writing ‘Nelson Mandela’ as well as her own single ‘The Boiler’. More recently, Rhoda has worked with Madness, Apollo 440, Dr Robert of The Blow Monkeys, as well as recording solo and becoming an in-demand DJ.

Skamouth is fortunate to have her in both roles
