 BB Seaton & The Gaylads

The @Skamouth team are extremely excited and honoured to announce that the amazing and legendary GAYLADS will be exclusively gracing our headline stage, this April (20th – 24th).

These amazing giants of the early scene will be backed by the Paradimes (who will also back The Melodians, Dennis Alcapone and Winston Reedy) and replace Lee Thompson’s Ska Orchestra (see other posters and website for details), due to late notice ‘Madness’ commitments.

The Gaylads were formed in the early sixties. The founding member B.B. Seaton, is one of the premier song writers in the history of Jamaican music and in the early sixties, he teamed up with Delano Stewart and Maurice Roberts to form The Gaylads.

“Througout the sixties and into the early seventies, their role in shaping the sound of Jamaican music was considerable, releasing probably more hits than any other single vocal group, and when one considers the competition including such giants as The Wailers, The Maytals, The Paragons and The Heptones, one can truly appreciate the extent of the achievement” (Trojan Records Spokesman)

Apart from an amazing live set, The Gaylads will share a special breakfast and meet and greets, with fans too!

Many of the accommodation units have sold out, so please ring the office now (01493857231) and book your space for a small deposit, at the highly celebrated Skamouth Weekender – ‘where legends meet’ – for April 2017 (20th-24th). Includes a special limited numbers Thursday BBQ party too

Delano Stewart, Harris Seaton & Maurice Roberts started with Clement Dodd’s Studio One in 1964.
