Since UB40 formed in 1978, the band has placed more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart, and has also achieved considerable international success. The band has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times, and in 1984, were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group. One of the world’s best-selling music artists, UB40 have sold over 70 million records. Their hit singles include their debut “Food for Thought” and two U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number ones with “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Both of these also topped the UK Singles Chart, as did the band’s version of “I Got You Babe”.

UB42 was formed in 2009, they have become good friends with UB40 band members and have captured the sound, dynamics and atmosphere of UB40 that many have grown to love. UB42 have grown from strength to strength enjoying and sharing in the celebration of UB40’s music. The UB42 band members are very skilled and experienced with a long history of performing alongside top national and international musicians, in addition to performing with regional musicians in various genres of music.

On numerous occasions, UB42 have been joined on stage by special guests from UB40, Steel Pulse, The Selecter, plus other big name performers. Amongst these guests were – Laurence Parry, Brian Travers, Martin Meredith & Tony Mullins from UB40, Selwyn ‘Bumbo’ Brown and Steve ‘Grizzly’ Nisbett from Steel Pulse, Charley Anderson, Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson and Neol Davies from The Selecter. UB42 will continue to welcome special guests and bring people togther with peace, love, and great music.

This will be their second appearance at Skamouth we know that UB42 will definately get you swaying to their sounds.
